The Leafs had a 2-1 lead in the third period but couldn't hang on as the Oilers fought back and downed Toronto (http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=Recap&seas=20072008&gtype=1&gnum=15) 3-2 in OT. SPEED DEMONS!!*

Salmelainen and Gamache have to two of the fastest people I have ever seen on skates, wow!* They both remind me of Martin St. Louis style of hockey and potentially could be just as valuable with real ice time.... though how many speedy finesse players can a team pile up on before getting beat on?* It has been suggested that Gamache could very well make the 3rd line with Bell gone for 15 games but I'm not sure where they would fit Tony in though I'll admit I do want to see him in there just to watch him fly,, someone that fast can easily generate some chances and draw penalties by making defenders look stupid which was the case early in the preseason open when he was tripped by an Oiler defender who seemed to only catch a glimpse of Tony at the last second as he was speeding up the right wing.* FAST!

Knewbury gets a lot of credit for the fore-check, banging people around and drawing penalties.

Pogge did a good job,,,* a little wild playing the puck but once he trains that ability, he will be a great puck moving goalie that will keep opposing teams guessing.

I think Wellwood is great,, really crafty player, amazing to watch but he looked down right sloppy last night... must have given the puck away 10 times in the offensive zone just throwing the puck into the middle with no one necessarily there.* I'm sure he will settle down.

Go Leafs!
