Updated: TSN's Bob McKenzie has confirmed Gainey is stepping down and will be replaced by Pierre Gauthier as Interim GM. I know Pierre very well and he is a standup guy who I believe would make a great permanent GM in Montreal. I will write more on Gauthier later in my rumor blog.
